Every Hour Counts

We are embarking on an ambitious plan to build a new library.   Demonstrating community involvement is key to winning the kinds of grants we will need to fund the building project.  Stay tuned to this space for more opportunities, or come to our monthly meetings, and your attendance will be counted.  You can find out what kinds of support the Friends need and volunteer for activities at each meeting, or join a committee.

Volunteer Opportunities

• We have big events planned for later in the year.  We're forming a "Wrecking Crew" for setup and tear-down efforts.  Looking for strong arms and backs who have a couple of hours to offer on setup and tear down dates. 
  
• We're recruiting for  Membership Committee members.  Cindy O'Mealy could use your help.  Do you have experience in sales and marketing? Recruitment? This might be a great way for you to support the Friends.
  
• How about working with the Fundraising Committee on Event Management?  Sound like fun?
  
• The Communications Committee is hoping to find additional strength in the Social Media space.   We welcome our newest member to the Committee: Sarah Duncan heading our Instagram effort Yeah!!  Next Door?
  
• As we grow, the need to nurture our volunteers will grow.  A Volunteer Coordinator would be a great addition to our team.

Book Sale Opportunities

Help us sort!
Every week we receive a large selection of books donated to the Friends. A group of volunteers meet to sort the books into categories to make it easier to set up our book sales. Contact us if you'd like to help volunteer.

Help us Set Up!
We are always looking for volunteers to help us set up the tables and books before our book sales. We can also use people during the sale for straightening books and answering questions. The day after the book sale is our "tear down" day. We can always use help sending our leftover books to a new home.

Help us Haul!
Sometimes we need people who can lift and haul boxes of books when we pickup a large book donation. Anyone with a truck is also a bonus.

Help us Tear Down!
We always have books left over, and we need to break down the event space.  A couple of hours after the event to assist would be a fantastic help to the book sale crew.

Special events

There are often special events and fundraisers throughout the year we can use help with. Attend a library event as extra help, help set up an event, tear down after the event, or help build baskets for our annual auction.
